Antiwar Voices

Manipulating the Masses: Woodrow Wilson and the Birth of American Propaganda | Wilson Center

Almost all of the mainstream media and news that you hear comes from the same few big companies. These companies are so powerful and have such a strong hold on the American people that whatever they say is true and that is it. Lots of these companies are also linked to very powerful people. These powerful people, whether it be in government or private business all have an agenda to push. The news tries to suppress strong voices and opinions that do not go along with the narrative that they want to push onto the American people. This is why you tend to not hear of any antiwar voices in the mainstream news. Simply because what they are saying does not fit the narrative that these big companies are trying to push.

If a mainstream news outlet started to push antiwar voices and opinions the network would most likely fire them or give them a slap on the wrist. The networks and the people behind the desk do not want such things being said on their air. It is most likely because they have something to lose from someone higher up if something like that does get on the air. It is so hard to find antiwar voices online and in the news because it is already flooded with so much pro-war propaganda. Propaganda is used everywhere to support  our military operations overseas and you may not even realize it. The government along with major news outlets have pushed the pro-war propaganda so much that that is simply what we as American people are used to. We cannot even see that we have been persuaded to believe that our dealings overseas are for the best. It has become so hard for us to find non biased information that we start to just believe what they tell us.
